What is an international section ?

A bilingual and bicultural programme based on a bilateral pedagogical partnership between the French Ministry of Education and foreign countries or organisations representing their education systems:
- a programme that allows students arriving from countries around the world to follow part of the curriculum in a language they are familiar with,
- a programme that enables French students to acquire sound language skills through an ambitious school path,
- specific courses of study taught by native speakers, backed-up with age-appropriate programmes,
- pathways aiming for excellence ; degrees recognized and valued both in France and abroad.
How to integrate an international section?

An admission based on the successful completion of entrance tests:
- In nursery and primary school: an oral examination in the language of the section,
- In secondary school (junior and high): a written exam and an oral exam in the language of the section.
The proficiency in French language for students arriving from abroad and applying for an international section in secondary school is also checked.

The British bilingual courses in Mulhouse
The bilingual English/French curriculum at primary level (school) is continued in the international section from collège to terminale in Alsace's second largest city.

The American international section in Strasbourg
- The Lycée Polyvalent Jean Rostand offers a programme that meets the principles of the Common Core Standards in terms of teaching practices in language and literature, with the aim of obtaining the American BFI.
The course in the American section is enriched by scientific non-linguistic subjects in English which can be taken into account for the baccalauréat.
